Something Borrowed (Places)

*So this will gonna be my last post for Something Borrowed, and I know it's a bit too late but still anyway I'm gonna try it then.) So I will just gonna implement some rules here, and this will be the places where the characters used in the novel (Darcy, Rachel, Dex etc...), and I will explain it and  add some facts (maybe 2 too 5). And here it is:

P.S. Their will be pictures or not. So I hope you will be patient about it.



1. The Hampton's House

*one of the houses on the beach where Dex, Rachel, Ethan and Darcy used to enjoy their trips.

*favorite location of the two best friends, Rachel and Darcy.

Facts:

    - it is located on the Long Island's South Fork in the New York residential area.

    - one of the most expensive houses in New York.

    - Sag-Harbor, BridgeHampton, East hampton and Riverhead are part of the Hamptons.

2. Indiana

         *In the book, it is described  as a mere flyover country as a necessary terrain to cross on their trips to Aspen or Los Angeles.

Facts:

         - known for their farmland and renowned auto-race Indianapolis 500

         - It is the 38th largest area in the United States.

         

3. Leeds Castle

       * A Norman stronghold and royal residence for six medieval queens. (In the Book.)

Facts:

        - it is located in Kent, England southeast of Maidstone.

        - considered as the Loveliest Castle in the World.

        - it is a palace used by Henry VII and his first wife Catherine of Aragon.

        - the castle is surrounded by a 500 acres of parkland.

4. Alphabet City

            * bar on 7th Avenue, Cor. 7B. It is a neighbourhood in the East Village of Manhattan.

Facts:

         - there are bars famous in Alphabet City.

         - a former place for drug dealers and famous for its burned buildings.

         - Its name comes from A, B, C and D. The only avenues in Manhattan to have single-letter names.

4.  Gotham Bar and Grill

            Address: 12 E 12th St, New York, NY 100003, USA

Facts:
                - a quintessential restaurant in New York City.


5. The Stephen Talkhouse

       

           * A Bar in Amagansett.

Facts:         

 - Stephen Talkhouse or "Stephen Taukus Pharaoh was a Montaukett Native American in the late 19th century.          

 - It's a nightclub where famous or unpopular singers/bands perform their music.

6. Bridge Hampton 

  *Houses with a beautiful t-shaped pool surrounded by gorgeous landscaping and at least 20 tiki torches.

Facts:

      -it is a Hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Suffolk County, New York, USA.

      - Bridge Hampton is in the town of South Hampton, on Long, Island.

7. Atlantic Grill

            *In the book, this is a restaurant near Rachel's apartment.

8. Float

            *In the book also, this is a Midtown dance club complete with velvet ropes and self-important bouncers.

9. Britannia

            - It is an English pub full of old men smoking and reading the paper. Walls and carpet are red, bad oil paintings of foxes and deer and Victorian women cover the wall.

PART ONE:

In the parade of the town of Naperville, Darcy and Rachel became friends and joined the band.

*Rachel and Darcy spent time slept over at each other's houses every Friday and Saturday during the school year and most nights of the week during the summer.

Darcy's parents hobbies:
               - Her  mom watched "The Young and the Restless"
               - Her dad likes to read "Playboy."

JOHNNIE REDMOND-  most unpopular boy in class, had a terrible stutter and have an unfortunate bowl cut.

ANNALISE GILES- their friend (Darcy and Rachel) who moved to cul-de-sac after two years.

*Annalise, Darcy and Rachel make gypsy costumes every Halloween.

*Dex and Rachel first meet up at their class at TORTS, a seating -chart class by their professor Zigman.

*Marcus overslept on the day of his statistics final exam and showed up 20 minutes late to discover that he had thrown his remote control into his backpack.

CHAPTER 5: THE STORY OF RACHEL'S BOYFRIENDS

*PAM-  a Jersey girl with big hair and encouraged Rachel to ask Hunter out.

*JOEY MEROLA- opposite of Hunter Bretz. He is a boisterous sports guy with a loud voice. He played intramural sports in the campus and the kind of guy who was proud of how much he could eat and that he could get by in literature class without even reading a book.

SECOND ADDITIONALS

*Both Darcy and Rachel's Dad come from Indiana but they are 2 towns apart.

TRACY PURLINGTON- a promiscuous girl from Indiana.

BETSY WINGATE- lived in the freshmen dorm. 

CARLY WEINSTEIN- folk singer from Brooklyn whom Nate had a crush with.

*Darcy and Rachel used to tell their plans in their sleepover, discussing their plans for the future, how many kids they have and name them. Back in Naperville High, they pass notes between classes, folded it in origami and talk about their classmates and teachers. They sometimes put quotes down on the left side of the page and tell who are they're matches.

*During freshmen year, Darcy and Rachel always stand between lockers after school.

BECKY ZURICH- one of the popular girls in senior class and had a boyfriend named PAUL KINSER (but she wasn't pretty and a much mean in a feared variety.)

*Once in 7th grade, Rachel refused to participate in the annual talent show because she become one of Darcy's back-up dancers.

*Every year over the July 4th holiday, there is a mass exodus in Manhattan.

     - she had awful hair days, pimples,  class pictures, having no right clothes, dateless for dances, baby fat,  getting cut from teams,  losing election for class treasurer. 

      - when she wanted to give herself a fresh start,  she would usually count to three and afterwards having a clean slate.

                - he had the coolest eyes and made him look Asian for his light coloring
                - soft spoken, strong-willed, politically active in a defiant, angry way.
                - he is real & intended in bed too.
                 - they spent the summer in the city, studying the Bar Exam.
                 - he began working as an assist district attorney in Queens.
                 - they broke because she met Carly.

                   - she met him at Spy Bar, down in Soho.
                    - kind of guy who retired in College, cool-boy uniform of filthy intentionally broken-in baseball caps, fraternity party T-shirts, and woven leather belts, swapping cool-boy uniform of gripping, cotton spandex T-shirts, tight black pants,  slight sheen and and loads of hair gel.
         - smart, fun and nice enough.
         - great body but sex was average.              - her friend Claire spotted Alex kissing a petite, somewhat trashy blonde at Merchants.

Something Borrowed (A Novel) by Emily Giffin📑

In these book, was Emily Giffin's bestselling novel back at 2005 (and the sequel Something Blue)  that centers through the story of two girls about the strength of friendship and romance when suddenly everything falls suddenly into place. 

So okay,  my POV?  This book was a gift from my 18th birthday and since I'd started reading this, I'm a bit curious  about how will the story will going to continue because it tells how a long-time friendship will be destroyed because of "SOMETHING" that happens unexpectedly. So to shorten my review of the book,  let me say that this was a greatly written book that teaches readers that it's not too late to fall in love with someone you are destined to be with. 

My Rate: 5/5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 

P.S. My next feature of the book will focus on the characters, settings and the great past and future relationships of the two main characters: Rachel and Darcy.)

My Review:

            How about this? At first, your life is so simple, sometimes miserable and nonunderstandable and sometimes your past hunts you down on how you live every single day in your present.

And everyday you are looking for some solutions to make things right because you thought it was. Well, for starters (just like me, who finished the 1st season... it felt like that.)

And of course that's how Barry Allen's life was. Or also known as The Flash.

Portrayed or played by Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash.)

A young man who works at Central City Police Department as a Forensic Scientist became as the Flash when one night the S.T.A.R. Labs (at Central City) exploded which activated the particle accelerator that gaves him the power to gain such super speed to become the hero and also to do multitasking activities like fighting crime and traveling back time.)

(S.T.A.R. Labs also known as  Scientific and Technological Advanced Research Laboratories for sorts👌)

Although it was never his intention to became the Flash himself, it's like destiny made his life to heroin he was meant to beand to choose what he should do with the power he had for himself. It may be difficult for him to choose, but of course it was never been impossible because he had family and friends to help him with.

     Like:

•Joe West (Barry's adapted father)

•Iris West (Barry's adapted sister and friend)

•Caitlyn Snow/Danielle Panabaker (a scientist who works at STAR Labs)

•Cisco Ramon/Carlos Valdes (also a scientist who works at STAR Labs)

•

Harrison Wells (owner and creator of STAR Labs)

•Ronnie Raymond (Caitlyn's fiancee)

•Eddie Thawne (Iris boyfriend, a detective and Joe's partner)

•Eobard Thawne (Eddie's family relative and also the real enemy of The Flash)

And it maybe so hard for Barry to tell his secret but it's for the best of all things. To protect the ones he loved and also to bring justice to the death of his mother's and also to the imprisonment of his father's from Iron Heights.

Although the story goes around and around to get his mother's killer, his job cannot be done because he also fighting 

"META-HUMANS" people who had gained powers because of the particle accelerator explosion.

And secure them to safety and from harm's way at all means. 

Well, basically my review is simple.

Just like the series itself. Barry's life is simple but he got to download extraordinary things. With or without powers.

And for some, it did really help me to learn something. That even though you are simply human, you can get to do great and awesome things that which not also develop yourself but also to help others too. In a simpler way. And you got to learn every battles you fought, every mistake you do and every choice you make as long as you do good things.

And that's why The Flash is so great. It's story is great. It maybe simple for others, but me... nahhhhh 😏😏😏

It is truly heroic and super. It really do.

So I guess this was it, my review for my 4th TV Series this Summer of 2016.

My Review: 

         More than 12 years since the hilarious prequel of Zoolander 's fashion life been broadcast and it's been this year the sequel has finally been revive from the ashes.

Also as it was been, the duo returned. Teamed up as the best and stupid crime fighting fashion wannabes starring Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson). Were as the story has been told, their friendship had been in highs and lows.

And since they've been gone for a long time, the story had been flipped off, some blooms flashbacks while there are others new as characters and extras. Well...it's funny. Still.

But...
But...
But...

The story becomes a small sense of confusing screenplay while it still matches the story of the new modern fashion. It will keep you asking you questions just like this:

"Okay. Okay. What?"
"Wait. Is he supposed to be that or that?" and
"Well. It's Zoolander. Umm..

So it's really confusing. But not that much. It's still considerable. Because it's comedy. And it still makes us laugh.

Or even angry for a moment. (😏😏)

Okay, I'll stop the negativities.

So what's good?

One. They're back.

Two. Cool stars. (Benedict Cumberbatch. Katy Perry. Olivia Munn.)

Three. Much much cool stars. (Fashion Icons like: Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and Alexander Wang.)

And four: The music. (For me, yes!)

And I think, well, that's it.. Only few great scenes. And the other just as good as new. Maybe because we're not used to see the new ones to appear. Right?

And I think this gonna be my review..Few lines only because I want to avoid spoilers to those who still haven't watch the movie. So yeah!

My Review:

         First, I may say for the start, it's really common for animated films to feature animals that if not behaving who they really are, animals can really talk, do things like any human do or have some abilities with powers or not.

But, in this film.... YES! All if this things were all been featured. And the great thing is, 

ANIMALS CAN DREAM BIG THINGS! THEY CAN BE ANYONE THEY WANT IN THIS YEAR'S FILM FROM DISNEY 2016

ZOOTOPIA.

The story circles to common bunny dreamer Judy Hopps (played by Ginnifer Goodwin) who wants to become a police officer to Zootopia where she faces different tasks and challenges until she met Nicholas Wilde (Jason Bateman), a fox from Zootopia. A hustler and a trickler as his job. Where they'd team up to solve a case that disrupting Zootopia's peaceful environment.

Well, as simple as it may seems.. the film is simply adventurous. The story fits perfectly as it's first prequel. No cuts, nothing's missing and every scenes tells a story.

Maybe it's because they're are lot of places in Zootopia to discover and every place has it's own distinct ground and behavior. And all of them fits for every animal in the story.

So for another, what is the great thing for the story?

The values that it holds.

It evaluates that every person or animal can dream anything they want...no matter if you're small or big. Weak or strong or even if someone tells you, you can't fit in anywhere. But in these film, nothing's impossible if you just work hard and pursue and tell yourself that you are who you are. 

Strong. Faithful. And a Dreamer.

And no one can stop you if you face your fear and just keep going to matter what are the cause.

And just like what the movie said,

"ANYONE CAN BE ANYTHING!"

So what you're waiting for?
